From deep, atmospheric shades, to exhilarating highlights, you’ll enjoy billions of colours and every nuance the movie creator wanted you to see on the extended XR Triluminos Max display – this is Sony's widest-ever colour palette to capture every detail. Sony's XR Processor uses AI to detect and analyse scenes with flawless accuracy, optimising everything you watch to make it feel real. And with consistent colour across all viewing angles, everyone gets the best seat in the house.
Just like at the cinema, sound comes from the screen. Whether it’s dialogue from a character’s mouth, or a plane overhead, the Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology emits sound directly from the action to truly bring cinema home. Voice Zoom 3 utilises AI for enhanced speech volume and clarity, whilst 3D Surround Upscaling creates virtual surround sound from above and the sides for an endlessly immersive experience - using just the TV speakers.
Add one of Sony's compatible soundbars for even more thrills. Acoustic Centre Sync turns the TV into a centre speaker for maximum immersion, 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creates phantom speakers in a cinema-like layout around you, and more.
Sleek, slim, and designed to create a harmonic presence in your living room, the BRAVIA 8 II is virtually frameless! A two-way TV stand is included, allowing you to slide your soundbar underneath, as is the stylish remote control.
Browse 400,000+ movies and TV episodes from across your streaming services on this Google TV, along with 10,000+ apps and games. Enjoy Voice Control with Google Assistant and share content from your other devices on the big screen using Google Cast built-in and Apple AirPlay 2.
The Eco Dashboard 2 will give you full control over your energy settings - and could even help save money on your energy bills.
For gamers, Sony's Game Menu 2 puts everything needed to win in one place. 4K/120fps, VRR and ALLM are all included as features of HDMI 2.1., and if you want more, pair with a PlayStation 5 to unlock extra exclusive gaming features. PS Remote Play even lets you play remotely.

Picture Quality
Featuring Sony's widest colour palette yet - XR Triluminos Max - see billions of colours come to life in your living room. From deep shades that ooze atmosphere, to exhilarating highlights, every shade and hue is complete with lifelike texture. So, whether you’re watching a fantasy epic or a gritty documentary, you’ll feel part of every world.
Experience QD-OLED, displaying the true black of OLED – but with better colour, contrast, and detail. With this added superpower, the BRAVIA 8 II captures the full depth of a story exactly as the creator intended, delivering rich, authentic visuals that pull you deeper into every scene.
This unmatched realism is driven by the latest XR Processor. Powered by AI for flawless precision, the scene recognition system detects and analyses what the movie creators put on the screen, and optimises each element for a lifelike viewing experience that will make your jaw drop every time.
Even old movies are given new life as Sony's XR Clear Image technology intelligently upscales everything you watch to near 4K quality. This technology ensures the original content’s natural textures and details shine through, while using dynamic frame analysis and zone division to minimise unwanted noise. The result is crystal-clear entertainment, refined and real.
Taking cinematic contrast to the next level, there are over 8 million self-lit pixels on this QD-OLED TV. Each pixel is individually and expertly controlled, so they can be turned on for dazzling highlights or off for crisp blacks, in real-time. Sony's XR Contrast Booster packs even more colour and contrast into every moment, using a high-luminance panel and temperature sensor to deliver the brightest scenes yet – and when pictures are brighter, more detail is revealed.
And to ensure everyone in the room gets the full BRAVIA 8 II experience, Sony's QD-OLED panel maintains constant luminance for consistent colour across all viewing angles – so watching TV from the sides is just as satisfying as it is from the front.
Developed with the world’s leading TV and movie studios, the dedicated calibrated modes automatically optimise the viewing experience to capture the creator’s vision. These include SONY PICTURES CORE Calibrated Mode, Netflix Calibrated Mode, Prime Video Calibrated Mode, as well calibration for IMAX Enhanced certification, and more.
Sound Quality
Just like at the cinema, sound comes directly from the action on-screen.
Acoustic Surface Audio+ is Sony's cinematic sound technology that uses actuators to turn every part of the TV screen into a powerful speaker. This means sound comes from the screen, just like it does at the cinema. Whether it’s dialogue straight from a character’s mouth, or a plane overhead, everything originates from precisely where it’s happening within a scene, with pictures and sound perfectly synchronised for a theatre-like, endlessly immersive experience.
Dialogue is always crystal-clear, as Voice Zoom 3 uses AI to recognise human voices and adjust the vocal volume and clarity for clearer speech - no more muffled voices. This clarity is achieved even amongst the most chaotic, noisiest drama, so you’ll never miss a plot twist again. Most importantly, you can dial dialogue up or down to suit your preference, without affecting other sounds. Hear the sports commentary more clearly or immerse yourself in the crowd’s energy – the choice is yours!
3D Surround Upscaling creates extraordinary virtual surround sound from above and the sides, using just the TV speakers. Even ordinary 2ch and 5.1ch audio is upscaled to immersive 5.1.2ch sound, and with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support on the BRAVIA 8 II, you can explore unforgettable spatial sound too.
Design
Sleek and seamless, Sony's Slim One Slate aluminium design fuses the screen into a single slate, so it’s virtually frameless. That means all your attention will be on what’s important – those incredible pictures.
A two-way TV stand is included, giving you the option to slide your soundbar neatly underneath.
The stylish remote is compact, easy to clean with a flush surface and polyurethane coating, and is capable of controlling many of your connected devices from the single remote. It’s also made from approximately 80% recycled plastic.
Everything about the BRAVIA 8 II has been designed to grace your space with a harmonic presence. The shapes, materials, colours, and surface treatments blend beautifully with interior décor and walls, as well as Sony's home theatre products.
